Abstract
This research addresses the ideological and political links between the profession and the feminist and women's movement in Brazil and Chile during the 1970s and 1980s. Its objective is to contribute to studies on gender and sex relations intertwined with the understanding of the historical and theoretical foundations of Social Work. A state-of-the-art study was conducted based on scientific articles that address the historical relationship between this profession in Brazil and Chile, during the period characterized as the second wave of feminism. The analysis was based on the identification of 4 articles by Brazilian authors and 5 articles by Chilean researchers. The results present aspects of the particularities of the influences of feminism on the profession between the countries.
